Dear Gran,
Just thought I'd send a photo of my new little brother. I didn't like him when he first arrived, but he's not so bad and he needs me to look after him, -He never washes his face properly, so I have to help him. Now that the weather is cooling down here in Central Otago I think he feels the cold so we usually cuddle up together along with biggest brother, Sooty in the basket. It's a bit of a squash but we usually manage to wiggle our way in. By the way , his name is Louis and he is a Lilac Tonkinese. Dad calls him " Louis, the silent assassin ", because he has a bit of a gas problem as I did when I was a kitten. I will send some more photos when I've downloaded them. Dad thinks he's cute, but I don't think he's as cute as I was as a kitten.

To Mommy Dearest

Dear Mummy,
I quite like my new flatmates.  The one with the beard makes quite a good scratching surface and does help me with my self care and grooming.  However, he has made this statement that I may eat modestly and often but not to the point of a sizeable
puku" !  What does he mean ?.  Is he suggesting I lose my shape a trifle after over indulging ?
I have a friend, and she likes my tail.  She is a marble domestic.  Does this mean she is employed to do housework ?  So much to learn and so little capacity to store the answers, especially after a meal.
Love, Reggie

Hello,
did you know the Mainland is not the only place to have a frost ?  Still, I'm not too bothered as I get to sleep in the bedroom, although the bush-faced one says I must not do my exercise routine at 3:00 in the morning.  I have a special friend, the marble domestic.  She had a nasty accident and has only got three legs and a thick tail, and she uses the thick tail like a long leg, and well, we go climbing together and when I'm really tired (I don't let the bush-faced one know when that happens) she plays mother and cuddles me.  I pretend to like it...actually I do.
The bush-faced one has a partner, whom I sometimes call mother and she says I'm growing like a weed, as only Siamese can.  Well, I said if you like I can eat enough that I could grow like one of your British !!  That took the grin off her face I can tell you !! And the bush-faced one said something about if I ate that much it was all on for exercise at 3:00am.  I do wish I understood North Islanders better.
Still, I've been up for a week now since 6:30 am and it's time for my post post-breakfast repast.  I'm a growing lass, after all.
Lots of love, the dreaded Reggie (that's what the dogs call me...tee hee hee.)

Hello,

Rapunzel looks just as I remember her.  The bearded one here says there is a strong family resemblance and that if I decided to remain still for longer than a nano-second he will prove it with a photo.  I will get him to photograph me with my domestic...i won't be outdone in the domestic stakes.  I continue to eat well...several horses have gone missing from the nearest stable, but I demolished the bones too !  So there is no dna evidence to connect me with the raid.  I note the school bus stops at the bottom of the drive.  Hmmmmmm !! But that's an entirely different taste.
I must go and groom and preen and love my domestic, and brush against the bearded one...and stay out of the terrible winds ,

love Reggie, of the ample and non distinguishing appetite.

Hello,
I have been so busy.  It's all go, in between the 30 or 40 meals a day I manage to score.  My domestic friend Filigree (remember, she's the one with Bengal marble coat and glitter, but only three legs because of a horrid accident) and I have done lots of interesting things.

We met some eight week old Cavalier puppies and ............., well, ..........really,............ they're dough balls  .  They'd make good duvets if they didn't snore.  I've tried putting Royal Canin up their noses, but they seem to inhale and swallow them....and swallowing RC is MY job.  Their mother is called Happy and I'd call her Silly because she shrieks a lot...why can't she Miaow like Filigree and Me ?

I watched Red October the other night and the bearded one said if I could find a Siamese or Oriental boy like Sean Connery it would be all go for me.  He said that because his wife Kirsty and I were Fixated (he said...and I panicked because I only heard the fixed bit) on the hunk.
Well, a girl KNOWS TYPE in any species doesn't she ?

The bearded one says I am growing nicely and that my adult coat is coming along nicely.

He's sort of alright because I can use his chin as a grooming brush .

Well, bye for now as I have only had 27 meals today, and emaciation will be the outcome if I don't eat something.

Lots of love, Reggie

News from Quasar

Dear Mum and Grandmum
I have settled in well to my new home.  I am slowly winning over that grumpy Burmese and one of the photos here is of me sitting in his basket.  I did that just to see what he would do.  He has gone to the cat hospital today to have his teeth cleaned, so I am running the house today.
I have found that sleeping in the humans bed is a very warm place to sleep.
I have not been out side yet as the world looks very big and also it has been very cold and I do not have a good winters coat on yet.
Having a good time and finding lots of little humans who want to play with me all the time.

Quasar.

Hi Mum
I had a really good night last night.  That grumpy Burmese brought me in a 'kill'.  It was a dead rat so my humans said.  It was great and I did all my natural hunting skills you told me about.  I practiced stalking, pouncing, throwing in the air, chocker-hold and strangle.  I also practiced my running with the kill and carrying it lifting my head up high to hold it clear of the ground I ran right around the room several times.  It was great fun.  That Burmese sat and watched me with a very interested face.
It was great fun - far better than any toys I have.
My humans are funny though, they growled at me when I dropped the rat on the feet or ran across their chairs and sofa with it.

I am getting on better with the grumpy Burmese.  I think I am winning him over with my submissive approach, good looks and persistence.  He cuddled down with me in bed with the mother human this morning.
I am a bit exhausted today so the Burmese and I are asleep in front of the fire in our own baskets.

Quasar.

Dear Mum,
The big bit of news was that that grumpy Burmese had another kill.  The humans said it was a rabbit.  But mum, you should have heard the bad language that grumpy Burmese used.  I have never never heard such bad language.  He would not let me near it and kept whacking at me if I got too close.  It must have been a nice kill for him to behave like that.  The humans then took the kill and put it in a plastic bag when the Burmese had finished with it saying they were not going to put up with me making a mess with it.  I don't know, a young man cannot have much fun these days.

Otherwise I am doing fine.  I am getting bigger and keeping the humans entertained.  My coat is getting thicker and there has been some warm days in which I went outside a little bit. Met another cat, a big ginger one, who looked at me as if he did not know what I was.  He did not threaten me though.

Having a good time.

Love
Quasar.
